With the hours for recreation gone and the minutes rapidly dwindling each day, our family is in seeker mode - open for changes in circumstances and attitudes that will make our lives less exhausting and more exhilarating. One of our daughters is especially gifted with art of language and from her twelve year old mind came the following poem she wrote a few moments ago to inspire me:
Trials we face everyday,
Leave us broken and hurt in every way.
We may be Christians but that doesn’t stop
The pain from coming - to cause us to drop.
Hope drifts away like a wave in the wind,
And it forces our focus to the ways that we’ve sinned.
We sigh and we struggle we bend and we break,
Our faith seems forlorn and our dreams seem so fake.
But as we lift our eyes to see the truth and the light,
The hope that we lost comes back into sight.
It takes time and heart but when we near the end,
We see open doors and inside there’s a friend.
He looks in our eyes and gently whispers,
“Come in my good servant, join your brothers and sisters!”
As we take a last look at the road we have traveled,
The meaning of life becomes slowly unraveled.

That is very good. I really enjoy poetry that rhymes. Please share my pleasure with your daughter. I would love to copy it, of course, giving full credit to her. I often read these things to my Bible study group on Sunday evenings.
All that from the mind of a 12 year old. They're sure growing them smarter these days. It was a beautiful poem and certainly inspiring! Thank you for sharing!
It is great that you will be able to save this. Then when she becomes famous you can say you knew it all along... :)
Beautiful! I also added you to my blog roll. I am so enjoying your writing!
